Travel in Italy: what about bike?

Travel in Italy: what about bike?

Dear guest, let us tell you about a green way to move during your travel in Italy. To melt sustainable and sport tourism, you need a bike!

Our old village is called Silvi, in Abruzzo. It’s perched on a hill in front of the sea. Many bike-tourists come here to have break and observe the sea from the panoramic viewpoint.

Many of them choose to book our Relais Borgo sul Mare or our rooms and breakfast solutions across the village (we call it “Ospitalità Diffusa”) during their holidays in Abruzzo, Italy.

Silvi is in a part of Abruzzo, rich in places to visit: the beach, a Marine Protected Area, Atri, the WWF Oasis of the Badlands, Pescara, Pineto and the villages of Mutignano and Città Sant’Angelo, and so on.

You could reach these places during your travel in Italy by riding your bike along the hills paths, or along the Adriatic bike-road. It connects almost the whole Abruzzo’s coast.

A bike trip in Italy in Abruzzo could sound good only for well trained people. Thus, some e-bike rides with the experts, suitable for families too, are now available in our territory. Our staff will keep at your disposal to give you the information you need about it.

We’ve tried it ourselves

We experienced it ourselves, along the Terre del Cerrano. It’s a good story to tell you about the kind of things you’ll live during your travel in Abruzzo. To be honest: discovering our land and the ancient village of Silvi from this point of view surprised us too.

Starting from Pineto, we had a ride along the pine grove that gives the town its name. Try to imagine you were riding among the trees, while the sun rays cut the foliage. Then you reach reach the Tower of Cerrano.

There, a guide was waiting for us to visit the Sea Museum and the old spanish fort. It overlooks the sea and faces our ancient village, on the hill above.

After the visit, we were again on our e-bikes, riding up on the sweet hills. Please, wonder you were with us, passing fields, vineyards and olive trees, hay bales left to dry under the sun. Don’t you smell the good perfume of grass, or feel the summer heat on your skin? Moreover, we’d like you to feel the sense of freedom we felt.

That’s the way we came back to the village of Silvi to have a good apertif, having a break on the panoramic viewpoint after a few-hours ride. A restorative shower and some relax in the cleaned-up and comfortable rooms and we were ready again to spend some happy time more, tasting typical food and wine in the bars and restaurants in the village.
