Wine Tourism in Italy is iconic, and wine is a good reason to visit Abruzzo. Our region is rich in vines and well known wineries. Here you can taste many excellent wines. In the old village of Silvi too, you can taste local wines in the Fuschi Farm. You can also buy some wine to take back home to drink with family and friends, after your Holiday in Silvi Alta.
We’d like to tell you something more about Abruzzo local wines, as it can be the destination for you, dear Wine Tourism and Food Tourism lover!
Red wine: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC
Deep, bloody red, with a strong taste. This wine embodies the “strong but kind” charachter of the region. In the province of Teramo there’s the DOCG Colline Teramane trade, to distinguish the excellent wine produced in the area.
It suits to meat or seasoned cheese from the region.
White wines: Pecorino and Trebbiano
Pecorino is one of the most known and appreciated local wines. It has a intense floral flavor. Match it with seafood or white meat!
Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC is only made in Abruzzo in Italy. Because of its rich bouquet and its sour taste, it suits better to seafood and white meat.
The Rosé Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo
This rosé wine is a symbol of Abruzzo. It’s called Cerasuolo because of its cherry color (“cerase”/ “cirjice” in the dialects of southern Italy). It’s a soft and fruity wine, made by Montepulciano grapes and it’s very versatile. Taste it with meat or seafood, pasta or cheese!
Azienda Agricola Fuschi in Silvi
The azienda agricola Fuschi is in Silvi Paese and it’s a part of the Associazione Antico Borgo Marinaro, of which our Relais Borgo sul Mare is a part too. Fuschi produces wine, oil and jam.
The names of the Fuschi’s wines remember some local traditions of Silvi.
For example:
- Montepulciano Castelbelfiore, San Leone, San Leone Riserva
- White wines: Castrum, Ciancialone, Moss, Zeppino
- Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo: Tatì
and other bottles as Rosa Magnum or spumante Brut.
